Over the last 20 years Stefanie’s studies include Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture, Chinese Herbology, Nia, Yoga, Theatre, Art, Massage Therapy and Meditation. Her main focus at present is Acupuncture, but all of her studies enable her to find the most effective treatment for each of her clients.

She is extremely dedicated to compassion, to reducing suffering and pain, to support people in all stages of their lives. She likes to make people laugh and see the humor in life. She graduated from Southwest Acupuncture College in Boulder, CO in the winter of 2008, although most of her Oriental Medical Training was completed at highly acclaimed Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, in San Diego, CA. She has the ability to navigate different treatment styles and modalities, creatively customizing a treatment plan for each individual. She practices Traditional Chinese Medicine, Dr. Richard Tan’s Meridian Therapy, Trigger Point work along with Manual Therapy/ Bodywork, and Chinese Herbal Medicine.

Acupuncture is over 2000 years old, it is a beautiful system to help the human body regain balance within itself. It is based on the body’s own intelligence and ability to heal. Acupuncture was developed by observing the cycles of nature. Life is cyclical, and we can cycle in and out of health and poor health. This comes from the theory of Yin and Yang. She truly believes that Acupuncture works for many ailments if the correct treatment is found. That is why she is always learning and continually expanding her knowledge of the body and treatment modalities to make sure she can assess and see what needs to be done.

Stefanie treats the whole person with her treatments, finding where the imbalance is, it may be physical, mental or emotional. The amount of treatment and the efficacy of Chinese Medicine depends on varying factors, lifestyle, length of illness, diet, etc.

Acupuncture is a healing modality that is over 2000 years old. It uses single use sterile needles to stimulate specific points on the body. It is based on the philosophy that the body can heal itself. When we get out of balance, we are not always able to heal. Acupuncture is designed to restore this function. Pain is a sign of an imbalance in the body. This can be hereditary, from injury or lifestyle. In Chinese Medicine, we look at your life as a whole, helping you to find ways to have a more balanced life.

How Does Acupuncture Work?

From an Eastern Perspective, Acupuncture basically uses the energy that is already in the body to heal itself. Needles conduct the electricity that already exists in our bodies, this has an affect on how our brain processes pain. It accelerates that healing process. Using single use sterile needles stimulate specific points along energy pathways that run through the body called meridians, these stimulate the body to heal and balance itself.

What Doesn’t Acupuncture Treat?

Structural Problems: Acupuncture doesn’t usually repair structural problems, but can be used in conjunction with other therapies such as P.T. and Chiropractic care to help reduce pain and heal the body.
Lifestyle: If the problem is caused by repetitive behavior, a lifestyle choice or and external factor that cannot be changed, it may not help. But, regular Acupuncture, can help the body deal with those circumstances and choices.
